VietJet Air has placed an additional order for 20 Airbus A330-900 aircraft.
This brings the total number of orders for this model to 40. The decision is part of a network expansion strategy over the next 10 years. The airline plans to increase flights on high-demand routes in the Asia-Pacific region and possibly launch new routes to Europe.
The contract was signed in Hanoi by Nguyen Thi Phuong Thao, President of VietJet Air, and Wouter Van Wersch, President of International Strategy at Airbus. The ceremony was attended by French President Emmanuel Macron, who was visiting Vietnam, and Vietnamese President Luong Quang.
The Airbus A330-900 aircraft is equipped with Rolls-Royce Trent 7000 engines, offering a maximum range of 13,300 kilometers.
