“Kansai International Airport Sky View” Special Opening on July 12 and 13
Heathrow Airport Holdings has announced a £10 billion private investment plan.
From 2027 to 2031, new spaces for lounges, shops, and restaurants will be created within the terminal for the first time in a decade.
This is seen as a means to improve passenger services and promote the growth of both airlines and British companies, while also strengthening the supply chain. Upon completion, it will allow for an increase in annual passenger traffic by 10 million and a 12% increase in transport capacity. The cost will be covered by a £2 billion contribution from shareholders.
Additionally, they plan to seek permission to redevelop the central terminal area by demolishing the old Terminal 1, expanding Terminal 2, and constructing a new tunnel on the south side to improve access.
