Hilton and M&L Group are set to open “Waldorf Astoria Helsinki” later this year.
Located in the Kruununhaka district, this is a rebranding of Hotel Maria, marking the first Waldorf Astoria in the Nordic region. It will feature 116 guest rooms, dining and bar facilities, a fitness studio, and a spa with a Finnish sauna.
The “Waldorf Astoria” brand was founded in 1893 in New York, USA. It is known for being the first to offer bathrooms and electricity in all rooms, as well as 24-hour room service. Hilton later acquired the brand, which now has 67 locations worldwide, including in Beverly Hills, Rome, Cairo, Dubai, Bangkok, and Osaka.
This marks the eighth contract between the two companies and the fourth Hilton-branded hotel in Helsinki.
