Cathay Pacific Airways Renovates Lounge at Beijing Capital International Airport
Qatar Airways will relocate to the new Terminal 1 at New York John F. Kennedy International Airport.
The airline is moving from the existing Terminal 8 by 2026. A new lounge spanning approximately 1,400 square meters will be established. It will offer VIP check-in services, relaxation zones, premium dining, and duty-free shopping experiences. This marks the first lounge opening in the United States. Qatar Airways began operations at John F. Kennedy International Airport in 2008 and currently operates 18 weekly flights.
The new Terminal 1 is being constructed on the south side of the airport on the site of the current Terminal 1, the closed Terminal 2, and the former Terminal 3. Construction is progressing in phases, with the first phase, including the initial 14 gates, set to open in 2026. Aiming for completion in 2030, it will ultimately become the airport’s largest terminal with an area of 2.6 million square feet and 23 gates.
Several airlines have already announced their intention to operate there, including EVA Air, Air Serbia, Air China, Philippine Airlines, Air France, Etihad Airways, LOT Polish Airlines, KLM Royal Dutch Airlines, Korean Air, Scandinavian Airlines, Turkish Airlines, Air New Zealand, Royal Air Maroc, and China Airlines.
