Shibuya Stream Hotel in Shibuya, Tokyo, Japan will offer Stream Afternoon Tea – Catch the Star from September 1 to 30.
Sweets and savories that express the starry sky through color, shape, and flavor are served on a star-shaped stand. The welcome drink is the Magic Hour Soda, inspired by a gradation of changing sky colors and garnished with a crescent-shaped lemon peel. Sweets include a layered jelly in a glass expressing the hues of dusk; a Saturn chocolate modeled as a ringed planet; a tart inspired by the first star of the evening; and a choco-mint ice cream evoking the giant ice planet Uranus. Two kinds of scones are offered: one with Guérande salt, and a chocolate chip scone inspired by the planetary collision known as the “giant impact.” Savories include a sphere resembling Earth; a ham-and-parsley aspic patterned like Jupiter’s marbling; and a pâté sandwich evoking a black hole. For drinks, guests can enjoy as much as they like from eight TWG Tea selections, coffee, café latte, and more.
Venue: Bar & Dining “TORRENT.” Service is offered in two seatings, from 11:45 a.m. and from 2:00 p.m.; on Sundays, only the first seating is available. Price: 6,000 yen for the afternoon tea only, or 6,800 yen including a ticket to Cosmo Planetarium Shibuya. Tax and service charge included.
