Haneda Excel Hotel Tokyu in Tokyo, Japan is offering “FLYER’S Afternoon Tea” from September 1 to November 30.
The limited-edition mini airplane cream puff is filled with Japanese sweet potato custard and compote with fresh cream, and finished with chocolate on the surface and vertical tail. Savories include purple sweet potato velouté, truffle-flavored French fries and mushroom rice croquettes, Niçoise salad, pumpkin tart, a persimmon and mozzarella caprese, and a crêpe with smoked salmon and cream cheese.
Sweets include a chestnut Mont Blanc, a grape and yuzu verrine, pineapple and coconut cake, a hazelnut-chocolate macaron, pear guimauve and an airplane-shaped sablé. Two types of scones—plain and chestnut—are served with clotted cream and strawberry confiture. In addition to one glass of non-alcoholic sparkling wine for a toast, the set comes with three kinds of TWG Tea and access to a drink bar.
The venue is the Cafe & Dining “Flyers Table.” Service hours are from 11:30 a.m. to 3:00 p.m., with last orders at 2:00 p.m. The price is 4,480 yen (tax included).
