Hotel Metropolitan in Japan will accept reservations for Christmas cakes themed on the “Suica Penguin” from 10:00 a.m. on October 1 through December 16.
The lineup includes the “Suica Penguin Shortcake Present Box” (7,000 yen; 6,300 yen for members), which moistens sponge with strawberry and raspberry syrups, layers creams with different compositions and strawberries, and finishes the sides with white chocolate; and the “Suica Penguin Gateau Chocolat Christmas Art” (7,000 yen; 6,300 yen for members), which pairs Earl Grey–flavored milk chocolate mousse with bergamot–flavored white chocolate mousse, layered with nutty biscuit, feuilletine, and citrus jam and mousse. Also available are the “Suica Penguin Strawberry Mascarpone Happy Cracker” (6,000 yen; 5,300 yen for members), the “Suica Penguin Christmas Party Cake” sized to serve about 12 people (20,000 yen; 18,000 yen for members), and the strawberry shortcake “Champ de Fraises” (6,000 yen; 5,000 yen for members).
