Kariyushi repurchased two hotels through a special purpose company (SPC).
The properties repurchased through GK CORE are OKINAWA KARIYUSHI RESORT EXES NAHA and KARIYUSHI LCH. Izumizaki Kenchomae. In 2021, amid the COVID-19 pandemic, to strengthen its financial base, the company transferred them to GK Yushi, an SPC under Ryukyu Capital, then invested in that company as a silent partner and continued operations. With The Bank of the Ryukyus supporting as lender, the capital structure is being returned to one led by Kariyushi, in line with the original plan.
The luxury hotel OKINAWA KARIYUSHI RESORT EXES NAHA, which opened in September 2019, is a 10-story property with 67 guest rooms and two restaurants.
KARIYUSHI LCH. Izumizaki Kenchomae, a limited-service hotel that opened in November 2013, is four stories tall with 58 guest rooms. A convenience store is located on the ground floor.
Kariyushi was established in October 1962 and operates five hotels in Okinawa Prefecture, Japan. President and CEO Masayo Oyadomari was seconded from Japan Airlines (JAL), where she had been a flight attendant, to Kariyushi for a two-year term starting in 2021, and assumed the presidency this March.
