DoubleTree by Hilton Kyoto Station will offer the “Glistening Chocolate and Strawberry Feast: Chocolate & Strawberry Afternoon Tea for Adults” from January 5 through February 28.
The sweets selection includes “Milk Chocolate Zenzai,” which combines Hokkaido-grown azuki red bean zenzai with couverture chocolate, “Strawberry Gelato,” heart-shaped “Red Heart Chocolate,” “Orangette” made with candied orange peel coated in bitter chocolate, and “Red Fruit Jelly,” a compote of strawberries and raspberries served with tonic jelly. Savories include “Strawberry Roll Sandwich,” made with strawberries, cheese, and prosciutto wrapped in whole-wheat bread, and “Strawberry Canapés.” Beverages feature free refills of three types of black tea from Dilmah, a Sri Lankan tea brand, and one cup per person of matcha green tea from Ippodo Tea, a long-established tea shop in Kyoto. As an option, “Bonsai Tiramisu” is also available for an additional 1,500 yen.
The venue is the Globe Lounge café lounge on the first floor. It is served from 11:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m. The price is 4,300 yen, or 5,000 yen with a glass of rosé wine for a toast.
