H.I.S. Co., Ltd. (HIS), a major Japanese travel agency, will hold the 6th “HIS Overseas Travel Thanksgiving Festival” on March 7 and 8.
With the theme of “Borderless World,” the event will showcase the appeal of overseas travel through seeing, listening, eating, and hands-on experiences. Japanese comedian Abareru-kun and other celebrities and well-known personalities with close ties to travel will give lectures and talk shows. At each session, a stage lottery will be held where participants can win prizes such as international air tickets and overseas hotel accommodation vouchers, and priority entry slots will be provided mainly for those who have pre-booked the lectures.
At the sky lantern event “Wishes in the Sky: Macau Colorful Lanterns,” 400 lanterns will be launched simultaneously inside the venue. In the west area, an “ASOBI World Tour” zone will be set up where visitors can experience sports and games from around the world, including pickleball and “tuho,” a traditional Korean game.
In the food and drink area “LeaLea Hawaii Cafeteria,” Hawaiian food will be served, including dishes from Pioneer Saloon, a Hawaiian plate lunch restaurant that has not yet opened in Japan, as well as limited items such as slider burgers and mochiko chicken, and offerings from “MASA’S MALASADA” and “Wow Wow Hawaiian Lemonades.” A stamp rally will also be held, encouraging visitors to tour the various booths within the venue. Those who collect all the stamps can participate in a prize lottery called the “Giant Gacha,” where they have a chance to win prizes such as overseas hotel accommodation vouchers for two.
The venue is Sankaku Hiroba (Triangle Square) in the Shinjuku Sumitomo Building in Tokyo, and admission is free. On the first day, the event starts at 10:00 a.m., and on the second day at 9:50 a.m.; doors open at 9:30 a.m. on both days. The sky lantern event “Wishes in the Sky: Macau Colorful Lanterns” (1,000 yen per lantern) requires advance reservation. Each lantern purchaser will receive one 500-yen discount coupon that can be used at designated booths inside the venue.
