Lufthansa German Airlines will begin operating an Airbus A380 aircraft (registration: D-AIMH) featuring a special livery for its 100th anniversary.
On the night of February 25, the aircraft arrived at its hub in Munich from Shannon, Ireland. The painting work took 34 days and was carried out by a team of 35 workers. The aircraft is painted mainly in dark blue, with more than 4,000 square meters of surface covered, including the airline’s trademark white crane stretching 47 meters along the fuselage. The left side and underside feature the number “100”, while the right side bears the inscription “1926 / 2026”.
This is the fourth aircraft to receive the commemorative livery, following a Boeing 787-9 (registration: D-ABPU), an Airbus A320neo (registration: D-AING), and an Airbus A350-900 (registration: D-AIXL). In the coming weeks, a Boeing 747-8 and an Airbus A350-1000 will be added.
