Lufthansa German Airlines has begun operating a Boeing 747-8 aircraft (registration: D-ABYN) featuring a special 100th anniversary livery.
The aircraft was painted in San Bernardino, California, USA, and is scheduled to arrive in Frankfurt as flight LH9913 at around 11:00 a.m. on March 5. Operations will begin on March 6, with the inaugural flight operating to Los Angeles.
The aircraft features a dark blue base color with the airline’s trademark white crane. The number “100” is painted on the left side and underside, while the right side bears the inscription “1926 / 2026”.
The special livery has already been applied to an Airbus A380, a Boeing 787-9, an Airbus A320neo, and an Airbus A350-900 (registration: D-AIXL), making this the sixth aircraft. An Airbus A350-1000 will be added this autumn, completing the planned fleet of seven aircraft.
