Lufthansa German Airlines will further move up the launch date of its new “Lufthansa Allegris” business class on Boeing 787‑9 aircraft, and begin offering it from March 23.
The Boeing 787‑9 aircraft equipped with “Lufthansa Allegris” were first delivered in August 2025. They began operations on October 9, 2025, and eight aircraft are currently in service. Due to delays in seat certification, tickets including the new seats could not be sold. Sales were initially planned for travel from April 15 onward, then moved forward to March 29 onward. Of the 28 business class seats, 25 will be available for sale, with only the three seats in the second row not offered.
“Lufthansa Allegris” is a new seating concept featuring multiple types of business class seats. In addition to classic seats, which can be reserved free of charge, passengers can pay extra to select front-row business class suites, extra space seats with more legroom, window privacy seats, and extra-long beds with a total length of 2.2 meters.
Lufthansa has also installed “Lufthansa Allegris” on Airbus A350‑900 aircraft based at Munich, operating them since May 2024. The Boeing 787‑9 fleet is based at Frankfurt. Under the summer schedule, they operate to Austin, Rio de Janeiro, Bogotá, Cape Town, Shanghai/Pudong, Hyderabad, and Hong Kong, and will begin service to New York/John F. Kennedy and Los Angeles from June, and to Delhi from July. Lufthansa plans to introduce a total of 29 Boeing 787‑9 aircraft by the end of 2027.
