
Food Poisoning Cases Rise to 12 at Steakhouse 88 Locations in Okinawa Due to Undercooked Meat
The Anchorage Tourism Bureau held a media event in Tokyo on April 8 as part of its sales mission to Japan.
Director Julie Saupe gave opening remarks, noting that this year marks four years since the resumption of promotions for the Japanese market, and that seminars are also being held in Osaka, expressing high expectations for the Japanese market.
Mission members visiting Japan included Alaska Railroad, Ted Stevens Anchorage International Airport, and local travel company A&P.
Sales Manager Alex Wong gave a presentation on the appeal of winter in Anchorage, when hotel rates are more affordable and the aurora borealis is easier to see. Access from Japan to Anchorage has improved, as Hawaiian Airlines launched its Tokyo/Narita–Seattle route in May 2025, and convenience has increased further through the business integration of Hawaiian Airlines and Alaska Airlines.
