The Westin Tokyo will offer a “Matcha Afternoon Tea” from May 1 to June 30, featuring different matcha sweets and savory items on weekdays versus weekends and holidays.
On weekdays, the menu includes sweets such as matcha tiramisu paired with apricot compote and black soybeans, white chocolate and matcha ganache, matcha Mont Blanc tart, and matcha blancmange, along with savory items such as a tortilla with smoked duck and orange confiture, and a parfait of cranberry and foie gras. On weekends and holidays, the menu features sweets such as a glass dessert layered with red berries and matcha, a tartlet combining coconut and lime with matcha-infused white chocolate ganache, and matcha and almond milk blancmange, along with savory items such as chilled cha-soba (Japanese green tea soba noodles) and sandwiches filled with egg and shrimp in bread scented with matcha. In both cases, drinks include eight varieties of TWG Tea, offered in a free-flow style.
The venue is “The Lounge” on the first floor. On weekdays, the afternoon tea is offered in three seatings between noon and 3:00 p.m.; on weekends and holidays, there are nine seatings, starting from 11:30 a.m. through 5:30 p.m., with a two-hour limit for each seating. Prices are 7,500 yen on weekdays and 8,900 yen on weekends and holidays, tax and service charge included.
