
Why JR East Entered the Vending Machine Business in UK Stations: The Popularity of ¥600 Peach Juice
East Japan Railway Company (JR East) will run the second phase of its “Enjoy! SixTONES, Enjoy! ShinKANSEN.” campaign, featuring the Japanese idol group SixTONES, from June 1 to September 30.
In the second phase, new visual posters themed around the catchphrase “To scenery yet unseen. To new encounters. Our journey goes on and on.” will be displayed against the backdrop of the Komachi Shinkansen. They will be posted at major stations, inside train cars, and on digital signage. The design of the AR photo frames—installed at 12 stations where passengers can take photos together with SixTONES members—will also be updated. These stations are Shin-Aomori, Shichinohe-Towada, Morioka, Shin-Hanamaki, Akita, Tazawako, Sakuranbo-Higashine, Yamagata, Akayu, Sendai, Fukushima, and Koriyama.
From June 1 to August 7, 600 people will be selected by lottery to receive an original luggage tag featuring SixTONES member designs. Eligible participants are those who use “Shinkansen e-Tickets” with arrival stations on the Tohoku, Akita, or Yamagata Shinkansen lines located in the six prefectures of the Tohoku region, and who enter via the JRE POINT campaign page. The more times you use the service, the higher your chances of winning. To participate, you must be registered as an Ekinet member and have your JRE POINT membership number linked.
