JTB (Japan Travel Bureau) is running a “Passport Issuance Cost Support Campaign” from April 1 through March 31, 2027.
For departures from April to June and from September to March of the following year, travelers up to 29 years old at the time their passport is issued are eligible; for departures in July and August, all ages are eligible. For newly issued passports or renewals within the valid period, with the date of issue recorded on or after April 1, JTB will return JTB Travel Points as follows: 15,900 yen worth for a 10-year passport, 10,900 yen worth for a 5-year passport (5,900 yen worth for those under 12), and 5,900 yen worth for renewals.
The campaign applies to reservations with a total travel cost of at least 200,000 yen per booking. Eligible products include Look JTB, Tabimonogatari, JTB Cruises, optional tours and MyBus, international air tickets, overseas hotels, and international air tickets plus hotel packages. Participants must be JTB Travel Members and subscribe to the email newsletter from the time of application until the points are granted.
Applications are accepted from the first day of the month of departure until the 20th of the following month, and points will be granted by the 15th of the second month after the month of departure. Reservations can be made via the official JTB website and official app, JTB branches and partner agencies, the Travel Reservation Center, JTB Remote Concierge, and other channels.
A reduction in passport issuance fees in Japan is scheduled from July, and details regarding the revised point amounts will be announced at a later date.
