Etihad Airways and TAROM Airlines have agreed to implement a joint operation (codeshare) partnership.
The agreement was signed in Rio de Janeiro, Brazil, where the International Air Transport Association (IATA) Annual General Meeting is being held.
This partnership follows Etihad Airways’ launch of the Abu Dhabi–Bucharest route on December 17. It will cover routes operated by TAROM Airlines that connect Bucharest with six cities in Romania—Baia Mare, Cluj-Napoca, Iași, Oradea, Suceava, and Timișoara—as well as four cities in Eastern Europe: Belgrade, Budapest, Chișinău, and Sofia.
With this, Etihad Airways’ codeshare partnerships have expanded to 47 airlines, and its interline agreements now exceed 130 airlines. Through these partnerships, travelers can access more than 350 cities worldwide.
