Air Mauritius Appoints Aviareps as Japan GSA and Begins Passenger Operations
Japan Airlines (JAL) and Japan Transocean Air (JTA) will revise the applicable amount of the international fuel surcharge for tickets issued from July.
The two‑month average Singapore kerosene market price for April and May was 178.21 US dollars per barrel, and the average exchange rate was 158.85 yen to the US dollar, resulting in a yen‑denominated amount of 28,308 yen. Under normal circumstances, Zone W (28,000‑yen benchmark) in the application conditions table would apply. However, taking into account the Japanese government’s emergency, rapid‑change mitigation subsidy based on the situation in the Middle East, the applicable zone will be lowered by one level, and Zone T (25,000‑yen benchmark) will be applied instead.
For itineraries originating in Japan on tickets issued between July 1 and August 31, the following one‑way fuel surcharges will apply: 7,400 yen on routes to South Korea, Far Eastern Russia, and Okinawa/Naha–Taipei/Kaohsiung; 16,900 yen on East Asia routes excluding South Korea and Mongolia; 22,500 yen on routes to Guam, Palau, the Philippines, Vietnam, Mongolia, and Russia (Irkutsk); 35,000 yen on routes to Thailand, Malaysia, Singapore, Brunei, and Russia (Novosibirsk); 40,400 yen on routes to Hawaii, Indonesia, India, and Sri Lanka; and 65,000 yen on routes to North America (excluding Hawaii), Europe, the Middle East, and Oceania.
