Nifty Lifestyle began offering its bathhouse subscription service “Ofuro Pass” on May 12.
“Ofuro Pass” is a monthly subscription service that allows members to use exclusive coupons at hot spring resorts, saunas, and Japanese-style super sento (large public bath complexes). Many of the coupons provide discounts that exceed the monthly fee, and the lineup is updated weekly.
Example discounts include coupons such as 960 yen off the admission fee, one free soft drink or glass of beer, 1,540 yen off a set that includes admission, late-night fee, and breakfast buffet, and a free 10-minute in-person fortune-telling session. The service targets people in Japan who regularly visit hot springs and saunas, as well as those who want to explore new facilities. After registering, users can try the service free of charge for the first month.
As of launch, coupons can be used at more than 90 facilities across Japan, including Tokyo Toyosu Manyo Club, Times Spa Resta, Yomiuriland Overlooking Hot Spring “Hakei-no-Yu,” ROOFTOP Sauna, and MONSTER WORK & SAUNA. The number of participating facilities will continue to expand over time.
