Via Inn Shin-Osaka West began offering its “500 Series Shinkansen Room” on May 1.
There are two guest rooms, and based on the theme of “Recreating and Experiencing the 500 Series Shinkansen as It Was,” they offer two types: the former original specification and the current specification. The interior of the rooms and corridors incorporates design elements from the 500 Series Shinkansen and its test vehicles, including interiors based on the actual train cars, newly designed furniture, signage and stickers, and graphics of the scenery seen from the train windows. Seats and seat-back tables that were actually used on the 500 Series, reproductions of past posters and pamphlets, as well as original-design cushions and foot throws are also installed.
The first railway concept room, the “Yakumo Room,” is offered at Via Inn Okayama.
