The Mauna Kea Beach Hotel completed its renovation in April.
The guest rooms in both the Main Tower and the Beachfront Wing have been fully refurbished, with new interiors featuring wood finishes and fabric decorations incorporating quilts. In the deluxe room category, washlet-style bidet toilets have been installed. A new approximately 2,044-square-meter Spa at Mauna Kea, an approximately 232-square-meter fitness center, and an adults-only infinity lap pool have been added, along with a wellness deck equipped with treatment rooms, a steam sauna, a garden, and a pool.
In the pool area, the jacuzzi has been relocated closer to the ocean, and a family-friendly pool and five private cabanas have been developed. In addition, a new kids’ area surrounded by native Hawaiian plants has been created. At the adjacent Mauna Kea Golf Course, the turf and bunkers have been completely renewed, and a redesign by the son of the original course designer has enhanced overall course consistency and playing conditions.
At the restaurant “Manta,” the menu has been revamped to feature ingredients sourced from local farmers, fishers, and the hotel’s on-site garden, serving a breakfast buffet and Pacific Rim cuisine. The beachfront “Hau Tree Cantina” offers light meals such as salads and burgers at lunch and Mexican cuisine in the evening, while the “Copper Bar” serves a wide variety of dishes at the bar.
