Starlux Airlines Introduces New In-Flight Meals Featuring Kansai Okonomiyaki and Hand-Ball Sushi
China Airlines will begin serving in-flight meals supervised by Marufuku Coffee Shop on flights departing Osaka/Kansai for Taipei/Taoyuan and Kaohsiung.
This initiative commemorates the 20th anniversary of the Osaka/Kansai–Taipei/Taoyuan route. By collaborating with a long-established brand that represents Osaka, the airline has created a special menu that allows passengers to experience the charms of the local Kansai region on board.
Marufuku Coffee Shop is a long-established coffeehouse brand from Osaka, founded in 1934. Known for the rich aroma and full-bodied flavor of its deep-roasted coffee, as well as its retro and elegant coffeehouse culture, it has supported Japan’s café culture for more than 90 years. Today, it operates 28 locations throughout Japan, mainly in the Kansai region.
In Business Class, appetizers will include “Dashimaki Tamago” (Japanese rolled omelet seasoned with dashi), “Garden Salad” with Marufuku’s original corn dressing, and a “Honey Roll.” For the main course, passengers can choose between “Slow-Simmered Beef Stew” and “Cantonese-Style Braised Pork Belly in Soy Sauce.” Dessert will be a plate featuring “Coffee Roll Cake,” one of Marufuku Coffee Shop’s most popular menu items. Main courses can be reserved in advance from 21 days up to 24 hours before departure.
In Economy Class, China Airlines will serve Marufuku Coffee Shop’s popular specialty pudding from its carefully crafted coffeehouse lineup. It is characterized by its smooth texture and rich flavor.
China Airlines currently operates three round trips per day on the Osaka/Kansai–Taipei/Taoyuan route and ten round trips per week on the Osaka/Kansai–Kaohsiung route.
