Starlux Airlines to Launch AIRSORAYAMA Special Livery Airbus A350-1000 Jets in Collaboration with Artist Hajime Sorayama
All Nippon Airways (ANA) and Pokémon have unveiled the design of the third special livery aircraft, “Pokémon Jet Blue,” which will operate as part of a special project celebrating the 30th anniversary of Pokémon in Japan.
“Pokémon Jet Blue” (Boeing 737-800, registration: JA56AN) features ANA’s corporate blue as its base color. In addition to Pikachu, the aircraft is illustrated with Water-type Pokémon that serve as the very first partner Pokémon for players’ adventures in each title of the “Pocket Monsters” (Pokémon) game series. The aircraft is scheduled to operate on domestic routes in Japan from December onward.
Onboard, economy class seats will be equipped with headrest covers featuring the Pokémon depicted on the aircraft. ANA will also provide limited-design cups printed with the Pokémon 30th Anniversary logo, created to commemorate the collaboration with ANA, together with Pokémon characters. On international routes, cocktail napkins with the same design will also be available.
As part of a collaboration with “Pokémon GO,” from 4:00 p.m. on July 28, special ANA-designed “PokéStops” and “Gyms” will appear at selected airports in Japan: Sapporo/Chitose, Hakodate, Akita, Sendai, Tokyo/Haneda (Terminal 2 and Terminal 3), and Tokyo/Narita (Terminal 1). By taking on Raid Battles or the time-limited “Timed Research,” players can encounter Pokémon with unique “location backgrounds” that are available only through this collaboration. The number of participating airports will be expanded in stages in line with the future deployment of additional special livery aircraft in the “Pokémon Jet” series.
