Shin Corporation, which operates the Japanese karaoke chain Karaoke BanBan, has announced that it has acquired all shares of Ottotree Entertainment, which operates the karaoke chain “大嘴叭 (Loud Speaker)” in Malaysia.
大嘴叭 (Loud Speaker) is a karaoke brand with more than 10 locations across Malaysia. Its concept is “enjoy pure karaoke at an affordable price.” While conventional karaoke venues in Malaysia usually require customers to order a buffet or additional menu items, Loud Speaker is characterized by a simple business style that focuses on “singing itself.” By opening mainly in popular urban shopping malls and major commercial facilities, the brand has steadily established its market position.
Leveraging the know-how it has accumulated through operating karaoke facilities in Japan, Shin Corporation aims to enhance the value of the karaoke experience in the Malaysian market. It plans to improve customer service quality based on Japanese-style hospitality, develop safe and comfortable store environments, further sophisticate its operating procedures, and promote the introduction of equipment and systems that contribute to higher customer satisfaction.
Shin Corporation is part of the GENDA Group, which is engaged in entertainment businesses such as amusement facilities and photo studios in Japan. In February this year, it had expressed its intention to acquire shares in Ottotree Entertainment. The acquisition price has not been disclosed.
