Greater Bay Airlines will launch a Hong Kong–Urumqi route on September 3.
The service will operate seasonally until October 7, with three round trips per week. Flights will depart Hong Kong on Tuesdays, Thursdays, and Saturdays, and Urumqi on Wednesdays, Fridays, and Sundays. Boeing 737 aircraft will be used. Flight time will be between 5 hours 40 minutes and 5 hours 45 minutes from Hong Kong, and 5 hours 20 minutes from Urumqi.
Urumqi, the capital of the Xinjiang Uyghur Autonomous Region, boasts rich natural scenery and cultural heritage. Its attractions include the Urumqi Tianshan Grand Canyon, Urumqi Salt Lake Scenic Area, and the landmark Hongshan Park.
