Omio has raised US$10 million (approximately JPY 1.62 billion) in funding from Granite-Integral.
The funding will be used to strengthen partnerships and expand its transportation network in Japan, as well as accelerate expansion across Southeast Asia. Omio will also grow its teams at its AI technology hubs in Japan and Singapore.
Granite-Integral is a joint venture between Granite Asia and Integral, whose establishment was announced in March 2025. It aims to invest in Japanese companies and overseas companies targeting the Japanese market. It has US$100 million in capital under management.
Founded in 2013 and headquartered in Berlin, Germany, the Omio Group operates two brands, Omio and Rome2Rio, offering integrated booking for rail, air, bus, ferry, and other transportation services in 48 countries. This month, it announced the acquisition of Rail Europe. It entered the Japanese market in March this year. The company aims to expand into more than 70 markets by 2028.
Naren Shaam, Founder and Chief Executive Officer (CEO) of the Omio Group, said: “Japan is today one of the world’s most exciting travel markets. Millions of travelers visit each year, yet planning journeys across different operators and modes of transport can still be complex, especially beyond the major cities. With Granite-Integral’s unparalleled local expertise, we are accelerating a new era of connected travel in Japan, expanding our presence across Southeast Asia, and continuing to build a more connected future for travel in Asia.”
