Star Resort will open ‘AYANNA Miyako (アヤンナ ミヤコ)’ in April, a luxury auberge suite villa located on Irabu Island, Okinawa.
The resort boasts seven villas, each featuring a warm water private pool with a gorgeous ocean view. The use of bagasse, a byproduct of the sugarcane grown on Miyako Island, in the concrete and plastering materials not only reduces waste but also lightens the construction materials, helping to lessen the environmental burden.
The villas come in three types: the ‘Executive Suite Villa’ with two bedrooms, an open-plan living and dining area, and a terrace with BBQ facilities; the ‘Sauna Suite Villa’, which additionally features a panoramic sauna and a cold plunge pool; and the ‘Junior Suite Villa’, with one bedroom, living room, and a private pool terrace.
The restaurant aims to provide locally sourced cuisine, utilizing abundant Okinawan ingredients to create innovative, experiential dishes that merge French Kaiseki techniques. Guests can also enjoy a unique ‘Floating Breakfast’ served on the pool.
The resort is about a 25-minute drive from Miyako Airport and a 10-minute drive from Shimojishima Airport.
