JR East Suspends Banetsu West Line Service Between Inawashiro and Aizu-Wakamatsu
JR East is running its “Avoid Obon Crowds and Receive 1,000 JRE POINT Points! Campaign” from June 30 through August 11.
The campaign applies to travel on August 10, 12 through 14, and 17 through 28, using reserved seats on Shinkansen e-tickets purchased through Ekinet. Users who complete registration and link their JRE POINT membership number to Ekinet will receive 1,000 points per adult and 500 points per child.
Eligible journeys must depart from or arrive at Tokyo, Ueno, or Omiya stations, with destinations at stations from Sendai to Shin-Hakodate-Hokuto on the Tohoku and Hokkaido Shinkansen lines; from Shizukuishi to Akita on the Akita Shinkansen; from Yonezawa to Shinjo on the Yamagata Shinkansen; up to Niigata Station on the Joetsu Shinkansen; and from Kurobe-Unazuki Onsen to Tsuruga on the Hokuriku Shinkansen.
Discounted products such as Tokudane fares, Otona no Kyujitsu Club discounts, and shareholder benefit discounts, as well as non-reserved seats, JRE POINT products, and paper tickets, are not eligible. Tickets issued at station counters or reserved-seat ticket machines are also excluded. The points will be awarded as regular points from early October onward, with no limit on the number of journeys or seats.
