UK Government Announces Mascot ‘PIX’ and the First Sponsor for Osaka-Kansai World Expo Pavilion
The city of Shimonoseki, Yamaguchi Prefecture, will run the “Shimonoseki Accommodation Support Campaign” from September 1 through December 25.
The campaign offers a 2,000-yen discount on accommodation stays of 6,000 yen or more per person per night at eligible lodging facilities in the city. Check-ins on Saturdays and the day before public holidays are not eligible, and discounts cannot be accumulated for consecutive-night stays.
On the day of their stay, guests will receive a 1,000-yen digital coupon called “Oto Coupon” at their accommodation. The coupon can be used through the regionPAY local payment app at participating establishments in Shimonoseki, including restaurants and souvenir shops, from the check-in date through the check-out date.
Reservations and sales began on July 15 and will end once the budget limit is reached. Reservations are accepted through lodging facilities’ official websites, by telephone, and via accommodation booking sites such as Agoda, Jalan, and Rakuten Travel. Sales start dates may vary by accommodation facility and booking site. When using an accommodation facility, the representative guest will be required to verify their identity and complete a subsidy application form.
