Japan Airlines (JAL) Group will serve aged awamori, known as “kusu,” at its lounges at Naha Airport from September 1 through October 15.
With the cooperation of the Okinawa Sake Brewers Association, 31 brands of aged awamori from distilleries in Okinawa Prefecture have been selected. The offerings will be divided between distilleries on Okinawa Main Island and those on the remote islands, with several brands available on a rotating weekly basis.
Kusu is awamori that has been aged for at least three years. Ryukyu awamori has been served at the Naha Airport domestic terminal lounges since 2023, and this time the selection focuses specifically on aged awamori.
The drinks will be available at the Diamond Premier Lounge and Sakura Lounge. They will be served during each lounge’s operating hours and may only be consumed within the lounges. Service may end once the planned quantity has been depleted.
