MLIT Approves Advanced Tram Transport Plan for Utsunomiya LRT Extension
JR East will expand its Ekinet Q Ticket service to all areas from November 1.
Ekinet Q Ticket is a service that allows passengers to board using a QR code without collecting a physical ticket, including when traveling from outside the Suica service area or transferring between Shinkansen and conventional rail lines. The service is currently available in the Tohoku area and on the Tohoku Shinkansen. From the same date, it will be newly introduced in the Joshinetsu area, including the Joetsu and Hokuriku Shinkansen lines, as well as throughout the Tokyo metropolitan area, making it available across all areas served by JR East.
JR East BRT, the section between Maeyachi and Yanagitsu stations on the Kesennuma Line, and sections served by replacement bus transportation are excluded. It cannot be used in combination with other tickets, IC cards, commuter passes, or paper tickets. Applications are accepted from 10:00 a.m. one month before the travel date, and the Ekinet Advance Application service is also available.
