ANA to Remove Star Alliance Logo from ANA Card Design and Standardize Lounge Access
Public transportation operators introducing contactless payment in Kumamoto Prefecture will launch the “Kumamoto Support Project” on October 29.
Fares paid by contactless payment will be half price on all eligible bus routes equipped with boarding terminals, as well as on Kumamoto City Tram, Kumamoto Electric Railway, and Minami Aso Railway services. Eligible payment methods include contactless-enabled Visa, Mastercard, JCB, American Express, Diners Club, Discover, and UnionPay cards, as well as smartphones and wearable devices with these cards set up.
No advance registration or counter procedures are required. The discount will be applied automatically when passengers tap their card or device on the boarding terminal when boarding and alighting. The Fukuoka–Kumamoto “Hinokuni-go” service, including jointly operated services, is also eligible. However, the “Yamabiko-go,” “Takachiho-go,” Kyushu Odan Bus, Aso Sanjo Line, Kumamoto Airport Limousine Bus, and “Takamori-go” are not eligible.
For example, the fare between Kumamoto Station and Torichosuji will be reduced from the regular fare of 200 yen to 100 yen, while the “Hinokuni-go” fare between Sakuramachi Bus Terminal and Tenjin Bus Terminal will be reduced from 2,500 yen to 1,250 yen.
Boarding terminals will display the fare before the discount, and the discounted fare will be applied at the time of payment. The project will end once the budget limit is reached.
