Alaska Airlines will launch a Tokyo/Narita–Anchorage route on May 13, 2027.
The airline will operate one round trip per day using Boeing 737-8 aircraft. Flight time will be 7 hours and 15 minutes from Tokyo/Narita and 8 hours and 15 minutes from Anchorage. The service will operate through September 8, 2027.
New Pacific Airlines, formerly known as Northern Pacific Airways, had considered launching the route with Boeing 757 aircraft, but later went bankrupt.
Representatives from Visit Anchorage and Ted Stevens Anchorage International Airport visited Japan in April and conducted a sales mission. The event has been held for the past four years, with its scope expanded to include Osaka, as efforts to attract visitors from Japan have intensified.
