American Airlines Places Order for 280 Aircraft from Three Companies, Also Increases First-Class Seats on Domestic Flights
American Airlines has placed an order for 280 aircraft from Airbus, Boeing, and Embraer.
The order includes 85 Airbus A321neo and Boeing 737-10 aircraft, and 90 Embraer E175 aircraft. Additionally, there are options and purchase rights for another 193 aircraft. The order also includes converting an existing order of 30 Boeing 737-8 aircraft to Boeing 737-10 aircraft.
This aircraft order, including production capacity and capital investment, is part of previously announced plans, complementing existing orders for Boeing 787-9 and Airbus A321XLR aircraft.
Furthermore, starting in 2025, Airbus A319 and Airbus A320 aircraft will undergo renovations to increase the number of first-class seats on domestic flights. The Airbus A319 will be outfitted with 12 seats, and the Airbus A320 with 16 seats.
