The SDGs Promotion Council of Osaki Town, Kagoshima Prefecture, will open the experiential lodging facility “circular village hostel GURURI” on April 14th.
This facility will be the first to offer an experience of the circular society “Circular Village – Osaki Town.” By renovating an old prefectural employee’s house and focusing on high insulation and the circulation of resources within the region, the building reflects the Osaki Town style, featuring various environmentally friendly innovations.
By using insulation materials and triple-glazed windows, the facility achieves high insulation and airtight performance. The hot water system employs a woody biomass boiler, and electricity is supplied from reused solar panels. A portion of the furniture and appliances are PaaS products, and the facility actively utilizes the region’s unused resources. The kitchen is designed for guests to experience the household waste separation system of Osaki Town. Prices start from 24,000 yen per building.
An opening event will be held on April 14th, the day of the opening. This will include a talk event by Hiroko Kasai, the director of Daimaru Matsuzakaya Department Store Future Standard Research Institute, a tour of the facility, and various workshops.
