Scoot’s First Embraer E190-E2 Aircraft Arrives in Singapore

Scoot’s very first Embraer E190-E2 aircraft, which was received, landed at Singapore Changi International Airport in the afternoon of April 15th.

This aircraft is the first of nine ordered through the leasing company Aercap, and had been received on April 11th in São José dos Campos, Brazil. It marks the introduction of a new type of aircraft in Scoot’s fleet, following the Airbus A320 family and Boeing 787 aircraft, and has been named “Explorer 3.0.” The aircraft was welcomed with a water salute upon its arrival at Changi International Airport.

Leslie Thng, the CEO, commented, “We are very pleased to welcome our first E190-E2 aircraft in Singapore today. It marks the beginning of a new chapter for Scoot and is a testament to the hard work of our entire staff. I would also like to express my gratitude to our precious partners, including the Civil Aviation Authority of Singapore (CAAS), Changi Airport Group (CAG), Embraer, and SIA Engineering Company (SIAEC), for their close cooperation over the past year in preparation for the entry into service of the E190-E2 aircraft. We look forward to welcoming customers onboard these new aircraft.”

Scoot will receive two aircraft in April and commence operations with this model on the Singapore to Krabi-Hat Yai line from May 7th. Additionally, operations on the Singapore to Samui line will start with one round trip per day from May 13th and on the Singapore to Sibu line with three round trips per week from June 5th, expanding the number of destinations to 69 cities.
