JR Central Collaborates with Capcom for Tourism Promotion: A ‘Monster Hunter’ Stamp Rally in Toyohashi
JR Central is teaming up with Capcom to launch the event “Let’s Go Hunting in Toyohashi!”, featuring ‘Monster Hunter’ game content in downtown Toyohashi, Aichi Prefecture, from April 24. An opening ceremony was held in the city on April 23, ahead of the event’s start, with talent Maki Goto, known as a fan of the game, making an appearance.
The event is part of the collaboration campaign “CAPCOM TRIP TOKAI” that JR Central and Capcom have been rolling out since February 1. It includes a digital stamp rally aiming to clear missions inspired by the ‘quests’ in the game, taking place at ten different locations in the city such as the Toyohashi City Public Hall. Additionally, Toyohashi Railways will operate fully wrapped trains featuring characters from the game, while Hotel Associa Toyohashi will offer collaboration rooms, and shops within JR Toyohashi Station will sell products in collaboration with local companies, among various other contents.
At the opening ceremony, a unveiling ceremony of a statue displayed on the concourse of JR Toyohashi Station was held. Goto and others presented a statue that featured the character ‘Airou’ from the game setting off Toyohashi’s traditional Tezutsu fireworks. Goto commented, “The city is sprinkled with content. It makes you excited to go around. I am also interested in the collaboration products with Black Thunder and the collaboration rooms at the hotel.”
The event runs until July 31, with additional content planned for release after June.
