Ibaraki Transport has extended its express bus line to Yamagata beginning November 1.
Previously running one round trip per day from the north exit of Akatsuka Station via Mito, Katsuta, and Hitachi Stations to Sendai Station, the service now extends to the Sanko Building Bus Terminal near Yamagata Station. Although passengers can board and alight between the Soma IC Bus Terminal and the Sanko Building Bus Terminal, disembarking at Sendai Station is not allowed.
From the Mito area, buses depart from the north exit of Akatsuka Station at 5:00 AM, reaching Soma IC at 9:00 AM, Sendai Station at 10:05 AM, and arrive at the Sanko Building Bus Terminal at 11:35 AM. From the Yamagata side, buses leave the Sanko Building Bus Terminal at 4:35 PM, Sendai Station at 6:00 PM, Soma IC at 7:11 PM, and arrive at the north exit of Akatsuka Station at 10:57 PM.
The one-way fare for an adult is 5,000 yen on weekdays and 5,500 yen on weekends and holidays from Akatsuka Station or Mito Station to Sendai Station. It is 6,000 yen on weekdays and 6,500 yen on weekends and holidays to the Sanko Building Bus Terminal, and from Soma IC to the Sanko Building Bus Terminal, it is 2,000 yen on weekdays and 2,500 yen on weekends and holidays. During the New Year holiday period and other specified weekdays, fares are the same as weekends and holidays.
