JR West Japan Introduces Trial WESTER Point Ticketless Service Between Shin-Osaka and Kyoto
JR West Japan will launch a trial “(Trial) WESTER Point Ticketless” service for a limited time, exclusively available through the online reservation system “e5489” for the section between Osaka’s Shin-Osaka Station and Kyoto Station.
The service allows passengers to use ordinary car reserved seats on express trains, with a fare of 450 yen and 200 WESTER points. The service will be available from December 1 to January 31, 2024. Tickets will be sold from the day before the travel date until 2 minutes before departure time.
The usual “WESTER Point Ticketless” service costs 650 yen plus 200 points, while the regular express train fare during the normal period is 1,290 yen.
