Finnair has utilized funds raised from the issuance of 570 million new shares to acquire six leased aircraft.
The airline purchased six Airbus A321 aircraft from BOC Aviation for over 200 million euros, which were previously leased. This acquisition is expected to have a positive impact on the pre-tax profits and cash flow of the company, amounting to over 20 million euros annually for the next several years.
Additionally, Finnair made an additional repayment of 120 million euros in December to the pension insurance loan of 600 million euros. Including interest, the December repayment amounted to approximately 230 million euros, leaving a balance of 280 million euros. The company plans to fully repay the loan by May 2025 at the latest.
