Jetstar Japan Affects Approximately 1,500 Passengers Due to Strike, Offers Flights Transfer with Other Airlines
Jetstar Japan announced that flights on December 29th would be cancelled due to a strike by the Jetstar Crew Association (JCA).
As of 10 pm on December 28th, the affected flights confirmed to be cancelled are the GK101/100 between Tokyo/Narita and Sapporo/Chitose, GK200 between Osaka/Kansai and Tokyo/Narita, GK351/350 between Osaka/Kansai and Okinawa/Naha, GK401/408 between Tokyo/Narita and Matsuyama, and GK801/800 between Tokyo/Narita and Asahikawa, totaling 9 flights. This affects about 1,500 passengers, and the cancellation rate is approximately 8%. There is a possibility that other flights may also be cancelled, and the company is urging customers to check the website for updates.
Passengers booked on cancelled flights are offered (1) transfer to another Jetstar flight, (2) a refund, or (3) reimbursement for the full amount of a ticket purchased on an alternative flight, including Japan Airlines Group flights, or for ground public transport excluding taxis.
According to Jetstar Japan’s announcement on December 22nd, the booking rate for domestic flights on December 29th was 85.2% on departures and 83.3% on arrivals, the highest during the end-of-year and New Year period, with some flights being fully booked.
