JR East to Operate Overnight Trains on 7 Lines in the Tokyo Area from New Year’s Eve to New Year’s Day
Extra Shinkansen Services in Tohoku, Hokkaido, and Hokuriku Regions Due to Reduced Flights
Due to the reduction in flights resulting from the fire at Haneda Airport, JR East, JR West, and JR Hokkaido will operate additional Shinkansen trains today, the 3rd.
On the Hokuriku Shinkansen, the “Hakutaka 696” service from Kanazawa Station to Tokyo Station will be operated. Departing Kanazawa Station at 7:39 PM and arriving at Tokyo Station at 10:20 PM. It will make stops at Shin-Takaoka, Toyama, Joetsu-Myoko, Nagano, Omiya, and Ueno stations along the way.
On the Hokkaido and Tohoku Shinkansen, the “Hayate 546” service from Shin-Hakodate-Hokuto Station to Tokyo Station will run. It will leave Shin-Hakodate-Hokuto Station at 7:04 PM and arrive at Tokyo Station at 11:36 PM, with stops at Shin-Aomori, Morioka, Sendai, Omiya, and Ueno stations.
Both trains will operate with all non-reserved ordinary class cars.
