JR Central will commence the operation of the ‘Sectional Rapid’ service on the Chuo Line between Nagoya and Nakatsugawa stations from the timetable revision on March 16th.
During the daytime hours, all rapid trains running between Nagoya and Mizunami/Nakatsugawa stations will make additional stops at Shin-Moriyama and Kami-Yori, branding them as ‘Sectional Rapid’. In addition, the number of local trains between Nagoya and Kouzouji stations during these hours will be reduced by up to two trains per hour.
All rapid and local trains operating between Nagoya and Nakatsugawa stations will be unified to the Series 315 trains, with maximum speeds raised to 130 km/h, thereby reducing the average travel time between these stations by about three minutes.
