Japan Airlines (JAL) will begin daily operations with the Airbus A350-1000 on the Tokyo/Haneda to New York/John F. Kennedy route starting February 1.
After its inaugural flight on January 24, the service was initially operated on alternate days. With the start of operations of the second aircraft from February 2, the service will become daily.
The cabin is configured with 6 First Class seats, 54 Business Class seats, 24 Premium Economy Class seats, and 155 Economy Class seats, totaling 239 seats. First Class features a ‘1-1-1’ arrangement while Business Class has a ‘1-2-1’ layout; both come with private seats equipped with doors. The world’s first headrest-integrated speakers that don’t require headphones have been implemented. Premium Economy Class has a ‘2-4-2’ arrangement and is the world’s first to be fitted with electric reclining seats. Economy Class is set up in a ‘3-3-3’ configuration. All classes are equipped with 4K monitors that can be connected to wireless headphones via Bluetooth, allowing passengers to enjoy in-flight entertainment.
The Airbus A350-1000 is the longest-fuselage model in the A350 series. In a typical three-class configuration, it can accommodate between 350 and 410 seats. By using state-of-the-art materials such as carbon fiber, the aircraft is lighter in weight, and it boasts 25% less fuel consumption compared to its competitors.
