JR East to Renew ‘Ekinet’ Exclusive Products
JR East will renew its ‘Ekinet’ exclusive products starting from March 16.
In the Shinkansen e-ticket service, which allows passengers to ride the Shinkansen by simply touching their Mobile Suica or transport IC card to the automatic ticket gate, the Shinkansen e-Ticket (Ekinet Tokudane) will be renamed to ‘Shinkansen e-Ticket (Tokudane1)’, the Shinkansen e-Ticket (Osaki ni Tokudane) to ‘Shinkansen e-Ticket (Tokudane14)’, and the Shinkansen e-Ticket (Osaki ni Tokudane Special) to ‘Shinkansen e-Ticket (Tokudane Special 21)’, with sales available until 11:50 PM, one day before, 14 days before, and 21 days before the date of travel, respectively.
The conventional line ticketless ride service will rename the Ekinet Ticketless Service to ‘Conventional Line Ticketless Limited Express Ticket’ and the Ekinet Tokudane (Ticketless Limited Express Ticket) to ‘Conventional Line Ticketless Limited Express Ticket (Tokudane)’.
Other Ekinet exclusive products will also be renamed. The Ekinet Tokudane (with Passenger Ticket) will become ‘Limited Express Tokudane1’, the Osaki ni Tokudane (with Passenger Ticket) will change to ‘Limited Express Tokudane14’, the Osaki ni Tokudane Special (with Passenger Ticket) to ‘Limited Express Tokudane Special 21’, and the JRE POINT benefit ticket (Ekinet Ticketless Service) will be termed ‘Conventional Line Ticketless Limited Express Ticket (JRE POINT Benefit)’.
