JR West will be scaling back its in-train sales service on the Sanyo Shinkansen.
In-train sales in standard cars will end on March 15th. The service will continue in the Green Cars of the 16-car “Nozomi” and “Hikari” trains. The “Ekiben Delivery” service, which delivers pre-ordered bento boxes to seats, will also continue only in the Green Cars, excluding certain services.
Trains that start or terminate at Himeji or Nishi-Akashi will not offer in-train sales. Sales of goods in car number 1 of the “Hello Kitty Shinkansen” will continue.
