JR West and JR Central will release a ‘[EX Service Limited] Connection Ticket’ to coincide with the opening of the Kanazawa to Tsuruga section on the Hokuriku Shinkansen.
This ticket, which can only be purchased through the ‘EX-Travel Reservation’ page on e5489 by those using the EX Service for departures or arrivals at Maibara Station, combines the limited express ‘Shirasagi’ fare and reserved seating fee from Maibara to Tsuruga with the reserved seating fee on the Hokuriku Shinkansen from Tsuruga onwards.
The ticket is applicable for the sections between Maibara and the stations of Tsuruga, Echizen-Takefu, Fukui, Awara-Onsen, Kaga-Onsen, Komatsu, Kanazawa, Shin-Takaoka, and Toyama. The segment from Maibara to Tsuruga, which is not part of the Hokuriku Shinkansen line, will be available for ¥500.
Tickets will be on sale from February 16, with the usage period starting from March 16 and available throughout the year. They can be purchased from one month in advance up to the day of travel, but must be bought before collecting the EX Service ticket. Additionally, the ticket for the limited express ‘Shirasagi’ must be picked up at a JR West station before boarding.
