AIRDO, together with Hokkaido, is setting a ‘Job-hunting Support Discount Fare’ available year-round for all routes starting from March 1st.
The ‘Job-hunting Support Discount Fare’ has been introduced since 2014 with the purpose of supporting the job-seeking activities of students within Hokkaido. In 2015, the eligibility was expanded to include students currently job-hunting and enrolled in graduate schools, universities, junior colleges, and technical colleges in all destinations served by AIRDO after completing certain procedures. Previously limited to the period from March to July, the program has now been made available throughout the year.
To use the discount fare, students must present an ‘Approval Document’ for the Job-hunting Support Discount Fare issued by their school, along with a student ID or other photo identification. Reservations can be made through the member service ‘My AIRDO,’ and purchases can be paid for via credit card through ‘My AIRDO’ or the AIRDO Reservation & Information Center, cash at convenience stores, or through travel agencies. The deadline for purchase is within four days including the date of the reservation. Sales begin on January 31st.
AIRDO and Hokkaido aim to reduce the burden on students from within Hokkaido as well as those wishing to work for companies in Hokkaido residing outside of the region, with the goal of promoting employment and settlement in Hokkaido.
