Virgin Atlantic and China Eastern Airlines have initiated their codeshare agreement as of January 30th.
Initially, this will enable seamless connections between Virgin Atlantic’s London Heathrow to Shanghai Pudong route and China Eastern Airlines’ flights from Shanghai Pudong to Chengdu, Changsha, Qingdao, Shenzhen, and Xi’an with a single ticket.
Subject to government approval, future plans include adding China Eastern Airlines’ code to Virgin Atlantic’s routes from London Heathrow to the Caribbean and Africa.
Both airlines are members of the SkyTeam alliance and operate from Terminal 1 at Shanghai Pudong. Virgin Atlantic’s service between London Heathrow and Shanghai Pudong resumed on May 1st, 2023.
